TRAUMA COUNSELLING SERVICE
Shortly after the “Precincts” came into being, it was clear that victims of crime needed someone to “talk to” after their incident. The services of Crisis Intervention are currently being utilised, which forms part of our Trauma Support Unit.
Anyone who has made use of this service will tell you that these dedicated individuals will treat everyone with compassion and dignity following their ordeal.
It really helps to open up and share your emotions and anxiety by talking to someone who is impartial, rather than a family member. Quite often victims don’t want to speak to anyone at the time – sometimes it takes a few days after the incident before it sinks in. Often victims need more than one visit. We will do whatever it takes to help you put your life back together.
